After being told a week ago that I was #344 on the list for a Prius
and 'oh by the way send us money to stay on the list', I got a call
from a different dealer on Saturday saying they have a 2005 in
the package I want available!

So I pick up my new 2005 Prius #6 on Thursday! MSRP

I'll miss the nice tax credit that starts next year, but it will be fun
to start driving such a cool car (and hopefully substantially cut my
considerable gas costs).

Very excited!

At least you'll get a deduction. Not as sweet, but still something.
And your local area may offer their own incentives.

True enough, Dan. I'm not complaining. I'm very excited. :)

Thanks for the tip, Richard, a very good idea.

got it!

Just got home wiith the little darlin'.

50.5 mpg for the 17 mile drive home.

Such a SWEET car.

The info from this place was really helpful. I had them check the
oil level, and redo the tire pressure before I left. Really good
dealer experience (Toyota City, Brooklyn Park MN). In and out
in about 1.5 hours (including a test drive). They matched my
credit union for interest rate, and gave a good deal on the
extended warranty. No high pressure on anything. Very
helpful and friendly.

They do take very good care of me as well. Do be careful on the 15K and 30K service as they will try to do a whole list of things; some of which are scheduled maintenance, and some seem to be fluff. I pick and choose from their menu and have them do some and skip others. Ask them for a service schedule so you have time to consider what you want them to do before you get there. Free coffee in the lounge during your service visit! :D :D

Ahh, good tip. I've been using them for 15 years to handle
service on my Previa, and they've been great. (one time
only charging me about $2 to replace a broken spring on
the gas door flap -- which was smart, I've been bragging
about it ever since).

Welcome to the club.

How about that little thunderstorm the other night? Lot's of trees are horizontal in my neighborhood.

That was some storm. I was actually driving home during it and
it was the scariest bit of driving I think I've ever done. I lost a
large tree in my backyard. Still waiting for someone to come
take it out. I was lucky, though, no property damage.

I was on the shoulder of 694 in Brooklyn Park. You've never felt a car move more while in park! One of the freeway light poles came down right in front of us.

Sorry about your tree! :(
