I have been a member of this chat for almost a year now, and I want to say it is one of the best groups of people I have met, on or off line. Funny, helpful, clever, intelligent...

So come on folks, think twice about getting rid of your Canary just because you have a Prius to love.
Obviously you're uninformed. The canary is for detecting carbon monoxide. The Prius is a PZEV. There is no need to keep a Canary around if you drive a Prius. In fact, the exhaust of the Prius is so clean, you should drive it around on smoggy days in So. Cal. to help scrub the dirty air.

I do believe those canaries didn't live long enough to have offspring. Maybe the current generation of canaries are the great-great-nieces and nephews?
:D

I sure think so. Jake gets nervous when he smells garlic ! (and I use a lot of that). Must be in his genes.
He's having flashbacks to how you cooked the former significant other bear. Prolly is afraid he'll be canary parmesean!

And, by the way, I wouldn't take advice about a canary from a black and white cat!

Now you're all getting me worried. Did you know that many places in the world serve guinea pigs regularly---sauted with garlic?

What I want to know is how y'all got the dealer to ACCEPT your canary in trade? How much did you get for it? My SO's mother has an Amazon parrot... should I have brought him to the dealership with me? Surely a parrot is worth more than a canary (no offense intended to those who are very fond of their canaries).

Heck, I had a whole PLANET to trade (Saturn, as it happens) and I had to drive a hard bargain!

So to speak.

Yes, but did you try to keep the golden rings when you traded in the planet? I hear they don't fetch as much without them.

I tried to trade in a Cherokee, but they told me that human trafficking was illegal and would not accept my trade.
You guys are over-caffeinated!

I never thought that was possible. :?

I traded in my Escort, and I had no problems whatsoever. I guess the laws are not as strict in the frozen north...
And Hep, what's wrong with being over-caffeinated??

True. So true. In hind-sight, perhaps I need more! Can you give us the specs on your previous escort? We might be interested...
They wouldn't even take 100 years in trade...

they didn't want my Century :(

Well, let's see: Born in 1994, according to some sources in Japan (who would have guessed), lived in California till 1999, then moved to Minnesota. I guess you'd call it a redhead, official color "Raspberry", pretty sporty, but with ~ 80'000 miles
I guess you could say I got quite some use out of it

They DID take my Cherokee, but told me my 2 door wasn't in high enough demand to warrant even the blue book price. My Prius price was good, but dealer made money on my Jeep. Oh well, someone else is driving a 12 mpg car.

NATURAL raspberry, or 'enhanced'?

After 80,000 miles, did your escort have a sagging rear end?
