I'm at 29,100 miles, and just noticed that a couple of my tires are worn at the edges... enough that the "white stuff" is showing.

Anyone know the specific specs of the OEM setup for a 2003 (and previous model year) Prius? I know the tire size... and that the stock tires are the Potenza RE92's. Just curious about other wheel&tire "upgrade" options, while not messing around with the general integrity of the setup (such as making sure the wheel/tire weight is comparable to the stock setup, offset, overall diameter, etc.).

Thanks!

Be sure to check out John's site. He has a good list of alternative tires for the 2001-03 Prius. (Also the 2004 Prius, but that's a different list.)

The cheap starter tires that came stock with the 2001-03 Pruis were only good for 20-30K miles typically. I switched to Michelin X-Ones and so far have 60K on them with at least 10K of rubber left. They do give a 3-5 MPG hit though. John's list has others that don't last as long but don't hit the mileage either.

Good luck.
