Mostly jazz and alt.country. Lately that has been primarily Mimi Fox, "She's The Woman," and Golden Smog, "Down By the Old Mainstream." Although, over the past couple of weeks I have been enjoying the arty pop-rock stylings of "The Spine" by They Might Be Giants.
hehe.. Am I the only one that meets what I thought a stereotype of Prius owners would be?
Public Radio and classical music. (Mostly because I can't stand radio ads, and I get tired of a single CD.) I do have a mix CD in there that has a wide variety, ranging from soft rock to 'rocky country' to hard rock to jazz. Most of my drives are short enough that I don't get around to turning on my iPod. When I do, I listen to an even wider variety of music. (Just about anything EXCEPT current 'R&B', 'bubblegum pop', and really twangy country. Which are, of course, the three styles of music that 90% of my local commercial FM stations play.)
When ever I am in a parking lot, and I have already had my windows down, I usually turn off the radio, and the Air to just listen to the silence. Then I like to hear it when I drive by people they say something along the lines of "I didn't even hear that" to their friend. I love hearing things like that!!!
A "combination of the unlikely": Barrage, Tania Elizabeth, Fiddlestix, Michael Iceberg, Loreena McKennitt, Mo'Rockin, Weather Report, Aaron Young... and a few movie/TV (Enterprise, Matrix, Star Trek IV) and game (Bungie: Halo, Marathon 2/3, Oni) tracks. 8)
Mostly KPLU, NPR and all that Jazz. The best Jazz radio in the country. If you doubt go to http://www.kplu.org. After that my iPod more than half Jazz, also rock, blues, folk and bluegrass. Eric Clapton is god.
Usually a CD with Jon Anderson singing (NOOOOO not the country singer)
Jon Anderson of YES
or Dave Matthews or Phil Collins or Todd Rundgren or REM or Nektar
and when I listen to the radio any Classic Rock station will do
