I'm currently at 220 miles, and an average of 57.4 MPG. If this sticks for another 220 miles (or more ;-)) I'll be upping my record tank from 56.1 MPG.

The Little Prius's best tank is the one that's there now. The consumption screen says it's between 50 and 51 mpg. First time it's been that high for an enitire tank. YAY!

So far my best tank when I filled up had a display of 47.4 mpg with a 457 mile tank. That was actually the tank before the one I scored yesterday.




$2.25/gallon of 87 octane, which was the highest price I have ever pumped into any vehicle for 87 octane.


The Land Rover Discovery II that was at the pump ahead of me seemed to be pretty sad, too.

Gee, my best tank was, If I recall 50 or 51... and I've only had it a month! That was on the road driving around the Napa area. Current tank is going to be 45 commuting back and forth if it keeps on as the first half has gone.

To put things in perspective though, over 37 tank entries, I averaged 526 miles with 9.65 gallons for an average of 54.6MPG. During hurricane season, I had some short tanks, and occasionally I had some 'extended' tanks when I didn't think I had enought to get to my desired station.

My best tank was 763 miles on 12.75 gallons.
Second best 703 miles on (I think) 12 gallons
At least a dozen tanks over 600 including the current one. The last bar started blinking at 584 miles so I'll probably fill up at 700 miles. It would have been better but my wife drove it for a day when I had surgery. Her average is around 50 MPG where mine is around 59 MPG. Still looking for the elusive 800 mile tank. On the flip side, I drove it at 76 mph and 81 mph on cruise control while fully loaded for a total of almost 1800 miles and averaged 41 MPG for the whole trip. (four tanks)
