I just found a HUGE water leak in the back of my 2004
Prius.
It came in when I sprayed the hose down the back of the
rear liftgate window. It seemed to be flooding into that
little bit of stamped sheet metal running along under
the window base, and just literally poured out the center
hole, landing into my spare tire well. It was so bad I
wondered if there might be a whole part missing up in
there.
Anybody know how to stop that leak?

Dave & poj,
YES! 2009 Toyota Prius. -just last night I had a flat tire, so whilst getting the 'doughnut' tire for the 1st time- lifting-up the bottom piece, boom a POND! about 8 gallons or more of water floating OVER the top of the doughnut tire. Getting new tires today ~ now i must go find a way to release this tab people have spoken of to get it all out of there. The water is shockingly clean - that is, it does not stink. I am shocked that I did not 'feel' this amount of water whilst driving - and no wonder I wasn't getting the mileage that I used to. ****If we can find out WHERE the water is coming-in from... this is important. Let's keep in mind that many people go many YEARS without even seeing their spare tire. (Just as I have). Any advice/knowledge on THIS from anyone- please list it here. :) THanks. - Eric
