My stomach dropped when I looked in my washer this am there it was....my 2008 Prius key fob. I ran outside and tested it and it still worked, thankfully.

Just to be cautious I took the battery out and doused it in alcohol and dried it real good and put it all back together. Still works

Problems diverted, right? Wrong

Now my car alarm keeps going off randomly. Even when I am not holding the key fob and nothing is around it. It has gone off at least 6 times in the last
3 hours.

I have to go to work tomorrow and can't be within ear shot of my car. How can I disable the alarm, the horn or something? I'm panicked.

Thanks for suggestions.

Those fobs usually have to be within about 20 ft of the car in order to do anything, so as long as your desk is farther than that from the parking lot, you should be fine. If you want to be certain, just take the battery out of the fob during the day, and then put it back in when you're ready to go home.

By the way, I've never tried the alcohol trick to revive wet electronics. I've had good results with burying them in dry rice for a few hours.
