Apple just annonuced an iPod w/ video playback....

I am just wishing out loud here, but how cool would it be if someone like Vais Tech would make a device that, in addition to good old music, can pipe the video to the MFD.

They already have the AVIC-100i. They just need to tie it to the iPod.

video in car

I would love some video to watch while I drive. Most of the time I'm just going down the same old streets with boring cars going this way and that, and the pedestrians walking in front of my car aren't much to look at. I try to beat the boredom by talking on my cell phone, shaving, or flossing my teeth while I drive, but video would be much better. I'd definitely want video controls like freeze-frame and slo-mo so that I could pop in a porno and loop the best parts and whack off while I'm trying to merge onto the freeway. Also, it's hard for me to sleep while driving, and if I could pop in an old movie or something I could fall asleep a lot easier, like I do in my recliner at home.

Yeah, this is a great idea!

Why not?
I just installed backup camera on my Prius with
SoundGate VIDTOYO1 + SAVV2000NC camera for $400.
There is still a 2nd source of video selectable to be fed into SoundGate (therefore to MFD).

A ground trigger wire and a hand(foot)brake ground wire to control its triggering.
By CA law, any (non-instrumental) video that is visible to driver must be controlled by an interlock thru emergency brake.
