I am having difficulty transferring my phone book numbers from my bluetooth phone to my 2005 Prius. The phone is connected and works well but when I go through the screens and go to transfer, the screen says "transfer numbers from your Bluetooth phone". I can't find anything in my phone manual or my car manual to help me find out how. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it a Motorola V710 from Verizon? I'm betting it is. For "business reasons" Verizon disabled the necessary part of the Bluetooth spec that is necessary to send your phone book data. I have this problem too. I got around it in a funny way. I wanted a GSM phone that worked in Tahiti when I was going there for vacation. I got one from AT&T that had bluetooth. I used that phone both for Tahiti and for populating my address book in the Prius. Now it is my "travelling" phone for when I go to places that Verizon doesn't work.

All of the Verizon BT phones are this way. There's some hacks you can do to enable OBEX, but there's a risk there.

You don't say what Bluetooth phone that you have. Some can upload the entire contact list at once, some only one contact at a time, and some cannot upload any at all.

Here is the list of what Toyota USA has tried. There are more Bluetooth phones out there, so if yours isn't listed you'll have to search the groups for owners of that phone to see how they manage with their phone...

If the problem is a disabled phone from Verizon, you can use a laptop with a Bluetooth dongle (<$20) along with the phone to upload the phone book from the laptop.

See my website (http://www.moxproject.info/prius/info.aspx) for details.
