If you go to http://www.tirerack.com and search by size the stock tires weight rating 1149 lbs. the tire is a potenza the others have a weight rating of 1019 thats not enough to cause concern you have 32 choices including winter tires well i hope that helps someone buy a wonderful car.

Also be sure to check out http://john1701a.com/prius-tires.htm for a list of tires that do meet the weight rating and have been tried out favorably by Prius owners.
