I've been lurking here for a while now and I have to say that this is the most poorly moderated forum I've ever been in.

There are at least 2 people here who need to be BANNED.

Cheers.

For all we know, moderators respond privately to individuals. I wouldn't want young children to read some of the offensive comments posted, but anonymous, immature posters are easy to ignore by adults.

Check out the wide-audience forums (like on Edmunds). Because the spreading of misconceptions and false information draws lots of attention & participation, they allow the anti-hybrid people to continue their harmful posts. Keeping popular topics lively is their goal, hence having hosts rather than members than moderate.

There are a few forums specifically for hybrids that can actually be worse at times. Since their goal is promote a wide variety of types & brands, they allow some undermining for the sake of keeping the peace. Having one specific hybrid emerge as a clear winner would cause an imbalance, making the website appear to have a bias rather than being impartial. That would conflict with the goal of serving all hybrids.

Dedicated forums (like this one) are unquestionably the most productive & informative, despite the occasional misunderstanding originated from a newbie or someone intentionally causing trouble.

There are other similar forums without any moderation that I survive on by the use of the "ignore this profile" button, but we don't got one here.

I have read some quite immature posts here, and they're still there!

Another point of bulletin board etiquette is to avoid making your introductory post a negative one; first impressions tend to stick.

The really, not to be an A#$, but why come back. There are so many out there, or you can start your own and live by your rules. Others who appreciate that will certainly flock to your site. Quite a few will stay away.

If you go into a bar, and you don't like the crowd, do you come back again? How many times have you come back, not liked something, yet came back again?

And why should I be banned?

up until this week, most of the forums on this board did not have any moderators at all. (People on the forum might email the site admin about a spammer, but that was about it.)

More moderators are needed! For more information, see: http://www.priusonline.com/viewtopic.php?t=6851

mrv, few would doubt your conscientious efforts and the respect you've earned on this forum.

I propose a toast to mrv and also to DanMan32 for their efforts to reduce animosity, promote information, and keeping threads directed and not 'hijacked'!

Merry Christmas to all and the best in the coming New Year :)

If you feel someone is a troll or you don't like their posts just ignore them. Replying and fighting with them only fuels their fire. It makes them keep posting in the same thread. If no one would entertain them what would they do, keep replying to their same original post or start new ones and then the same logic follows.
