TdS Report #38: What Was That EV Called?

One of the wonderful things about the EV community is that people are so
willing to share what they know.

In my interview with Topher Waring, neither he or I could remember the name
of one of the early commercial EVs. Tullio Falini of the Eastern Electric
Vehicle Club sent this along ...

You made a comment in report # 16 that you can never remember the name
of the converted Renault Le done commercially back in the 70's. It
was the Letric Leopard; I drove one for 12 years. It was done by US
Electricar of Athol, MA. whos founder was Chandler Waterman. They
were bought out by Solar Electric Engineering in California, who
changed their name to US Electricar, who is now Enova. Their EV sales
never really worked out, so now they do engineering work. The
Boyertown Museum has a Letric Leopard. Your in Philadelphia as I
write this so I wish you a great rest of the tour.

Tullio Falini Jr.
