TdS Report #3: Tour de Sol Categories: Solar Electric Vehicles

The first Tour de Sols, both in Europe and America, were all about solar-
powered vehicles. But the mission has changed over the years, and so the
majority of the cars, trucks and buses that enter do not have much, if any,
solar-electric energy sources. The rules state that all vehicles, except those
in the Production category, must carry at least 1 square foot of solar panel
and that it must power something. Many are used to run the radio.


But we still see entrants that get a significant fraction of their energy from
the sun. (There will be future TdS Reports with the technical details of each
of the vehicles.)
