I live in upstate NY (Buffalo, to be exact), and while I'm not yet a Prius owner, I test-drove one tonight on my quest for a new auto, and it's a great ride. While I'd love to purchase one, the sticker price scares me because I'm just a poor college student.

I've heard from other Prius owners that there are some sort of environmentally-friendly car tax rebates (both state and federal) that one can get to defray some of the cost of the car. It looks as if I'll need these to afford it, if I buy it at all (which I hope to).

Does anyone know where I can find out more about these rebates and how much they are worth?
