Here's a Smart Key question (I have that feature).

For many years I have served as an Election Judge. Occasionally this means going to the election office and picking up the (sealed) blank ballots and list of voters. Recently this process was simplified by lining up the judges as they stay in their cars, and bringing out the supplies to them.

My question is, with Smart Key, can I stay in a running Prius and allow someone to open the rear hatch from outside? I think it would be possible, but maybe I have to be in P or N to do it. They really don't want me to get out of the car.

If you are thinking of serving as an Election Judge, the pay can vary but it is a great way to meet your neighbors. There certainly is a need for more such volunteers - the average age of an election judge (in Illinois?) is 72 years, and we know that can't stay the case for long.

Now I get it!

Duh! Thanks for getting my theoretical head out of my... uh, theory.

Of course, that button would unlock all doors from within. Thanks.

In gratitude, I offer this quote:

"In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice, they're not."
