Screen Hood or ?

I find that I am having trouble seeing the monitor screen on my 2004 when the sun is bright. Changing brightness and contrast are of little help. Are other people having a similar problem? Has anyone rigged up a hood for it or some way to shade the screen? Thanks ahead for any ideas.
