Do a search here under "light scratching" or "scratch" and you'll turn up a thread with suggestions. Following suggestions in that thread, I started with Scratch-X and it does dull/hide some scratching but not remove them.

Anyhow, experts weighed in if you search above.

Another poster on priusonline turned me onto this site which has the best info from people who are way into their cars and professional detailers who post. I've been scouring this site for any questions I have regarding the paint or detailing:

Black is really tough because, as you know, any scratches readily show... Start with the less abrasive of scratch removers and if that doesn't work, move onto a slightly more abrasive scratch remover.

You can always go to a professional detailer and have them take the scratches out if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. And, ask them how to avoid scratching it in the future

Good luck,

Depending on how deep the scratches are, you may be able to use some wax to smooth them over. I get some swirl marks on mine after frequent washings and paste wax cleans it up well.

Mine is also black with tan interior.

Good luck!

I have a Black 04 that I bought certified used and it had isn't fair of swirls all over. I bit the bullet and bought a complete polish set since I have 3 cars and like to take care of all of them. The whole thing set me back $260 with proper polishes. Here is the link plus the website has a bunch of how tos to handle different paint promblems. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-sfxpol-kit.html

and here is a pic of mine after the full treatment.
