Am I correct in my conclusion that I'll have to buy the replacement blade for the rear wiper from Toyota? I just bought replacement blades and there is no way the rear on will fit on the arm. IMHO the original equipment blades were all crap!

You should be able to replace the blade. By blade, we are talking about the whole piece that attaches to the end of the arm, not just the rubber refill.
To allow the arm to be raised so that you can more easily replace the blade or even clean it, unsnap the plastic retaining cover at the pivot point of the arm.

Right! Been there done that! I removed the tab on the arm a long time ago. Yesterday I bought a new blade assembly but the arm is too wide to fit into the new blade assembly. I'll probably just leave the original blade on since I really don't use the rear wiper all that much.
Apparently there is some hard to find alternate source, but just get the replacement from Toyota, it's cheap enough.
