After re-reading the posts under "Rag Danger Alert" ,

Could it be that simple ??. :? It seems a number of people have been doing the old "rag stored in the air inlet trick" with some serious results.

And the first symptom that they had was...the car stopped running.

Dear CEO Toyota:

Our task force has been investigating the recent reports of mysterious stalling of 2004 & 2005 Prius.

My team of 40 software engineers have re-booted the operating system 12 times, adding several patches and 6,000 lines of code. Unfortunately we have not yet diagnosed nor solved the problem.

It is most mysterious, oh great one, but it appears very random, there is no pattern. After 6 months working on the mystery an old guy who only does oil changes at one of our dealerships in Portobelle OK, called to say he found a rag in the air inlet, and thinks that might have been the problem.

Of course we fired him on the spot. Who needs that kind of crap when we have a high-tech issue of such great concern ?

We are putting in place a flying squad to go out and do detailed interviews with all the effected owners to see if we can spot a pattern...

(above is a work of fiction & a joke)

Well, not so much a "flying" squad..... as it is a "firing" squad...

...and going out to "spot a pattern" is more of a "eliminating the threat"...

It just might work!
