Programming 2005 Keyfob Conundrum

Supposedly there are instructions for the NHW20 Prius (found in the German NHW20 repair manual) in Europe to be able to program a keyfob without the need for a trip to the dealer. However, these instructions do not work on North American Prius, and I haven't heard anyone actually try them in Europe yet... I can post a link to Victor's instructions if anyone from Europe is interested in trying it.

So, all NHW20 Prius keyfobs, smartkey or not, have to be programmed by the dealer.
 
I had copied this page from Victor in Germany. I believe he
got it from the German NHW20 repair manual...
