Hi all,
Today, I tried to replace the factory audio head unit (non JBL system) with an aftermarket one.
But I have a big problem:
When I disconect the default Toyota radio (3 connectors on the back of the radio), I loose some informations on the MFD like speed, Consumption, outside temperature, etc... and the MFD stop working correctly.
Climate button on MFD bezel gives a "Check Air Conditioner Connection" message.
If I reconnect the 3 connectors on the factory radio, all is working nice...
Someone can help me ?
Is there some wires to modify ?
Thank you very much

Jmi

You need a 60-80 ohm termination resistor across pins 9 and 10 (pink and white) on one of the connectors.

The AV system (MFD, radio, NAV, etc) communicates across a computer network called AVC. The MFD gets the telemetry information across this network through the gateway ECU. When you pulled the radio, you also pulled the built-in termination resistor thus disrupting the AVC communications. Restore the resistance and all should be well.

Thank you DanMan32.
Yesterday, I found this information on Metra Website also: they say that you will have to put a 68 ohm resistor across pins 9and 10 (TX+ & TX-).
Thank you for confirming this information.
