Hey mrv, with that many posts, I assume your 'puter acted up. Or else the server did. Hey moderator, can you delete the duplications?

No, if you look, each post is from the next month, including the latest figures.

It would be nice if we could have a 'newest numbers only' post, though; without having to start a new thread each time. How long do you have to edit an old post?

I am in data overload. Simple question, how many Prius have been sold in the US?
simple, take the calendar year to date for 2005 (cYTD), which through Aug 2005 is 72,849, and add it to my running total for the Total units of Prius sold in the US, from launch through Dec 04: 120,694
72,849 + 120,694 = 193,543

Which means, that while Honda just passed the 100,000 hybrids sold mark on Aug 31, Toyota's about to pass the 200,000 mark. (In fact, if you throw in the Lexus 400h and Highlander Hybrid, they might have already passed it.)

Lexus RX400h sales history

Aug 05 2,607 12,750
Jul 05 2,262 10,143
Jun 05 2,605 7,881
May 05 2,931 5,276
Apr 05 2,345 2,345

Toyota Highlander Hybrid sales history

Aug 05 2,925 8,358
Jul 05 2,564 5,433
Jun 05 2,869 2,869

RX400h + Highlander Hybrid = 21,108
Total Toyota/Lexus Hybrid sales = 193,543 + 21,108 = 214,651

According to mrv's recent cumulative Prius sales post, Prius sales passed 200,000 worldwide in March of 2004. That's a year and a half ago!

I think the recent 100,000 mark for Honda is also a worldwide number.

"simple"?

Wading through seven screenfuls of data to find out the relevant information is not "simple."

To qualify that remark about Toyota, you're talking US sales only.

Let me requote a few of the links in my original post:
Prius worldwide sales over 1/4 million mark (Nov. 2004):
http://www.carpages.co.uk/toyota/toyota ... =164752252
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/toy ... sage/78988

Toyota hybrid worldwide sales went over the 280,000 unit mark,
Prius worldwide sales over 244,000 units, in Sept. 2004:
http://www.japantoday.com/e/?content=ne ... &id=317517

Prius US sales went over the 100,000 unit mark in Sept. 2004:
http://pressroom.toyota.com/photo_libra ... d=20040930

Prius worldwide sales went over 200,000 units in Mar. 2004:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/toy ... sage/72144
Remember that Toyota has 6 hybrids right now.
Prius (introduced 1997)
Estima (introduced 2001, a minivan, available in Japan only)
Alphard (introduced 2003, a minivan, available in Japan only)
Harrier (I think this is the Lexus RX400h, 2004/5?)
Kluger (I think this is the Toyota Highlander, 2004/5?)
Crown sedan (mild-hybrid, available in Japan only)
check the "Hybrid Vehicle" section of http://toyota.jp/ecocar/index.html (descriptions of the different hybrid systems is at the popup window http://toyota.jp/ecocar/hv_system/index.html )

True, I did mean US sales only, just like Honda's press release.
