I have a simple milage log that I made in pocket Pc format. I am by no means a programmer, and it probabaly shows.

Actually this was made for the Compaq Ipaq. I belive the Jornada has pocket pc 2002 also. I havent tested it under pocket pc 2000, but my other programs I made in PPC 2000 still transfered and worked great in 2002.

If anyone is interested I can email or even attach the file here for them to use. Just my way of saying thanks to all and John for this site. But will leave it up to John on what he would like me to do. I am just finishing up the program. Simple stuff like colors schemes and getting the last of the bugs out.

I really love it. Its the typical thing (Geeky) to go along with my computer car. LOL.

But anywho. Anyone with pocket pc excel that would like to try it and give me suggestions is more then welcome to have a copy. All I ask is that you give me credit or refer back to this post when passing it on to others. If it is worthy. ;)

The catagories are:

Date (Self inputed)
Start Milage (Self inputed then after the first time will auto input to the next line.
End Milage (Self inputed
Total Miles (Auto calculated)

No. Gallons pumped (Self inputed)
Calculated MPG, (done by program so you dont have too :) )
Prius Computers MPG for that tank. (Self inputed)
Total price of gas you paid this tank. (Sefl inputed)

There is also automatic Lifetime milage (Auto calulated)
Lifetime MPG, (auto calculated).

At the bottoms of the rows (All auto calculated) there is grand totals, for example the total overall that you have paid for gas, total miles (again)
Total Gallons of gas
Total computer MPG or lifetime computer, This differs from actual calculated.
Total $ paid to dear old OPEC

Each program hold 50 fillups, and can be expanded to fit yoyr needs. If your savey on excel you can fix things the way you like it.

But in general I like it and Its a Geek factor thing that I really like doing on my pocket handheld. I take it with me everywhere I go.

Please let me know your input.

As soon as John gives me the OK I will attach the file. As always it is or was virus free when it left my hands.

God Bless America, and Bless the Prius/Insight owners for helping keeping his world a bit cleaner.

> As soon as John gives me the OK I will attach the file...

I'm not running the show. I just happen to be in command of the flagship Prius: 1701-A

Go ahead and post the file. There are plenty of other leaders here that can also help out. If you do need programmer help, I have a number of friends with Ipaqs that can do some testing and provide feedback. My smallest portable computer is actually a notebook, so I'm not really well informed about pocket computer abilities. My biggest portable computer is a Prius!

Adding a total $$$ paid column is a nice touch. I personally don't show it since I prefer to focus more on gallons saved. The money part is too much of a political game.

You'll find having all that data in your pocket really addicting. I show people the chart on the back of my Prius Website Cards all the time.

I tried to upload the log but I get the following error

"Only files of the following type are allowed: GIF JPG PDF."

Where else can I send it to?

I'd love the Pocket Excel mileage log. I'll test it out on my HP 660LX. I know it's obsolete, but darn, it won't die!

TC,

What might I have done wrong, I downloaded the file copy/paste to the ipaq though the activesync. Go and start pc excel and worksheet is there but, when I tap on it... nothing but the "clock" and it never loads?

Perry,

I sent an e-mail to you with some suggestions. I should have posted it here for everyones future reference.

Active Sync may have converted the file wrong.

If possible download the file from your Ipaq. BTW Im using my Ipaq now to write this and browse here ;)

The file may have been corupted when you downloaded it. Try to download it again.

Jeff,

I think the problem with the program not working is I noticed on your link the files extension is .Xlt the extension should be .pxl

Not sure if that is it, but I can re-send if somehow the file was renamed.

I can also email to everyone who wishes to have a copy.

Sorry for the problems

Thanks
TC
