I called Asif Mahmood at Toyota Town in Stockton (cell 209 327 0488). Gave him all my info, he quoted me 8-12 weeks, which was pretty good, given the waiting list is 12 months down here in LA, unless you are willing to pay nearly $5k above list.
3.5 weeks later he called to tell me a silver #7 had arrived at port! I picked it up exactly 4 weeks after I called him the first time!
Smooth transaction, paid MSRP. Turns out Asif is a really nice guy, and the ride from Stockton to LA was sort of fun (well, it was fun to go 388 miles on half a tank!)
So if you're waiting for a Prius in CA, I strongly recommend calling Asif.
