Hey everyone

I was just wondering if there was a way to wire neons under the car so that every time the dome light turns on the neons also turn on, just like the Nissan Maxima with underbody lights, Thanks

Can't see why not. You might need to use a relay. The dome lights are controlled using ground. In other words, the dome lights get full time +12V, and when the switch is set to DOOR, the body ECU controls the ground to the dome in order to turn it on and off.

Not that my opinion is universal, nor should it influence your choice one way or the other, but can I just say....."yuck". :?

I would only put them on if I could put so many down there that it looks like the car is riding on a pillar of solid, blinding, blue light...

But I expect FHP would have their issues with that.

You mean like the pillar of fire that was out in front of the Israelites bright? Wow... Of course, then you might really need the NAV, otherwise you'd be wandering for 40 years before you got to your destination. NAV Lady: "Your destination is ahead.... somewhere..."

How about tapping into the wires running out to the courtesy lights in the doors?

There are some good places underneath to put the lights in without having the lights be any lower than the car is already. In both sides of the car, on there is a plastic piece on the underside of the rocker panels that could serve as the base for the lights. Or, there is all the plastic aerodynamic pieces that have a bunch of clearance between them and the car body.

If you used LED's, they take up no room at all.

I'm kinda thinking I'd like this and have a little bit of the ground lit up when opening and closing the doors. Is this what the Nissan does?

Hey Joe-In-Australia, most of the Autobarn chain has a heap of these lights to look at, or at least order. They aren't expensive here, they're on every second rat-trap Gemini...

I looked at them (at the request of the kids) but was talked out of them by the guy in the shop! He just asked, "Will you drive in the rain?" and when I said yes he said there was nothing on the market (even LED) that will stand that on a regular basis. He pointed out in one of the installation manuals that they were 'water resistant' and regular exposure to water junks the warranty!
