Multi Func Display always on

I was sitting in "Sparky" in my garage for awhile and I noticed the multi function display had power going to it. The display was off. The key wasnt in the ignition. The garage was pitch dark.

I noticed what appeared to be horizontal orange lines running through the display. There were several of them that seemed to glow the orange color which reminded me of an oven heating coil. I assume this is what allows the L.E.D. display to form its different letters and numbers.

I remember a discussion somewhere about current drain in the Prius other then the usual items. The author said he had done a voltage test, and noticed an unusual power drain to the 12 volt system. This drain, (I believe he said) would cause the battery to go dead withen about 2 weeks if the car wasnt used. (If I remember again) The author said he wasnt sure where the power drain was coming from.

I thought I would add this for those lucky electricly (electrically ?) inclined folks that do these tests. Ed?... :)

The cathode on the display seems to stay on for about a minute after I shut my car off. It also comes on when I open the door. I guess they want it to be ready to display something.
