MFD not working but not dead

On the hottest day last summer the dash over the MFD (2009 Prius) was hot to the touch and since that day the MFD became evermore glitchy until it barely comes on, but every once in awhile it will start up & come on and work properly before glitching out again for several more days or weeks. I've seen others with malfunctioning MFD's but I'm hoping I don't need to replace the entire unit and that it's just a loose connection somewhere.
Does anybody have experience with this particular situation?
I've attached some pictures of what the glitchy-ness looks like.
Again I'm hoping its a loose connection because sometimes it does work as fully functional but just for a few moments or minutes; so the display still works. It will start out normal and then the screen will freeze, lines will appear and it will slowly turn more to a solid green or white screen before turning off and sometimes rebooting several times. The radio and hard controls on the steering wheel and dash still work.
Anyone have any ideas of what I should do (besides replacing the whole unit)?
Do you think this sounds like just a loose wire I can fix?
Thank you!!

I have the same issue, my 09 pirus has 245k miles and everything that u have i also have, it pisses me off that it cuts my music and stuck in a constant reboot and doesn’t let me listen to music, supposedly these things have life lines and they die around 200k miles, my best suggestion for you to do is to take out ur screen see if its maybe a loose wire, mostly the circuit board is fried and it malfunctions so when u take it out theres a serial number on it and uneed to get the exact one for ur 09 model it might be around 190-350$ But very easy to put in and take out, just look on youtube
Same for me. Did you find a solution? View attachment 2456
