I'm from Australia where we have large reserves of natural gas. Does anyone know if Toyota intends to make a hybrid Prius using a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) engine with an electric engine?

I don't know, but Toyota has said that hydrogen fuel cell engines, and perhaps diesels could be substituted for the ICE, and a recalibrated HSD system could accomodate it. I wouldn't rule it out.

I think the most likely next steps for Prius will be plug-in hybrid, and diesel hybrid, but I have no specific knowledge, just speculation.
