2007 NISSAN ALTIMA CERTIFIED AS QUALIFIED HYBRID VEHICLE

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service has acknowledged the certification by Nissan North America, Inc., that its 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid vehicle meets the requirements of the Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit as a qualified hybrid motor vehicle.

The credit amount for the hybrid vehicle certification of the 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid is $2,350.

Consumers seeking the credit may want to buy early since the full credit is only available for a limited time. Taxpayers may claim the full amount of the allowable credit up to the end of the first calendar quarter after the quarter in which the manufacturer records its sale of the 60,000th vehicle. For the second and third calendar quarters after the quarter in which the 60,000th vehicle is sold, taxpayers may claim 50 percent of the credit. For the fourth and fifth calendar quarters, taxpayers may claim 25 percent of the credit. No credit is allowed after the fifth quarter.

$2,350 for full credit huh? Must have done well in fuel conservation compared to other vehicles of its class.
Still not as good as the Prius got, but still impressive.

It's nearly on par with the TCH.

I've seen a few new Altimas here but I haven't seen a hybrid yet.

DanMan32,

Of course, what you expect. Wasn't the Nissan Hybrid a licensing technology from Toyota? The Camry Hybrid got $2600 before the 60k sold up to 9/31/06.

30 days have September, April, June and November. All the rest have 31 except for February, which has 28 unless it is leap year.

Yesterday, when the Techno-Guys came from Toyota corporate to doctrine us on the Prius sell-value- no longer rely on supply versus demand.

One of them mentioned, The Nissan-Toyota HSD on the Altima will be out and yes, this time unlike the Ford licensing, Toyota gave Nissan the HSD!
Also said, no worry, the Prius is the only Techno=Show model among the Toyota-Lexus HSD Hybrids.

The Altime will compete directly, with the Camry Hybrids. Nissan will have the upper hand vs CH due to Tax Credit is new to Nissan and the CH has used up the quotas.

The Nissan sales guys will use the Toyota's reknown HSD reliability and technology supremacy to its full strength!

So the CH buyers will cross shop and they may go with the Nissan, solely due to "Higher tax Credit" After all, they are getting the real _Thing_ under their hood.......
