Can anybody direct me as to where I would find diagrams and pictures
of how to dismantle the instrument panels of a 2005 Prius so that I can
work on my radio factory unit (amplifier and IPod2car connections)?

Search here and on Pruis Chat for directions on installing sat radio. I think it may have been posted on both, but with crashes and erloads, I'm not sure where it is now. The only tools you will need are Phillips and flat screwdrivers, your bare hands, and maybe a 10mm socket wrench. The only trick is knowing where and how hard to pry, and the sat instructions will give you the courage.

Just to let you know, since you are new here, the official way would require you to remove the driver and passenger panels, to get both vents off, take out the MFD (I think) then the radio. However, if all you want/need to do is connect a harness to the aux port of the radio, you can do that from the passenger side with very few panels removed and moving a junction box out of the way.
