Best wishes to Coastal Dave and his family as Hurricane Frances bears down on Florida! Hope all goes well with you and your kin the next few days!

P.S. Yes, I'm hunkering down too...hopefully no evacuation is needed.

I'm looking at this as the chance for our first road-trip.

We'll be heading up I75 tomorrow. Our plan is to get to where we can head east or west and get around it, and back home.

Hurricane Frances is on it's way and they keep putting a bullseye on our house every time they show the news, so we are boarded up and heading out. After personally seeing Andrew's destruction a few years back, I am really not looking forward to this. Best of luck to all who may be affected.

Hurricane Update:)

Hello All :)
I just wanted to drop a quick line to express our thanks to everyone
for their kindness and well wishes during our recent incredibly
active hurricane season. Everyone was so patient and understanding,
Prius owners are truly a good group of people. In the end, we were
very lucky comparatively. We had to evacuate 3 times in about 6
weeks (pack everything and unpack it again! whew!), spent many
hours in bumper to bumper traffic due to the mandatory evacuations
of our area. Hurricane Frances and Hurricane Jeanne hit land within
2 miles of each other! Imagine the odds of 2 hurricanes within
weeks of each other hitting virtually the same place! I was thinking
we should play the lottery :) It really devastated some areas in
many parts of the state- no power for weeks (HOT!), traffic lights
were out, no gas for the cars, all the vegetation stripped from the
trees, debris everywhere, everything boarded up- like in the movies,
really. A sight to behold. 2 trees went down right where the 2
Prius were once parked! Eeek! :) We were lucky for most of
Hurricane Charley and Hurricane Ivan although Hurricane Ivan wreaked
havoc all the way up the coast of the US with flash floods and
rains, etc... Why would you stay in Florida you ask? Because in 30
or so years that was the first time to have to evacuate...once every
30 years or so isn't too bad :)

But we are here and doing fine and working hard to get caught up
from the 3 or so weeks of evacuations and restoration. Thanks again
to everyone for the many emails and phone calls checking in with us
and wishing us well.
Best Regards,
Coastal Dave, Kelley and little man Logan
