Does this device work properly with a "rolling code" garage door opener?

Don't yet have my 2007 but it will include the HomeLink mirror.

Yes it does. Follow the instructions in the owner's manual. In fact, check your 04 manual. It will be the same setup.

If you didn't say that, I would have!

Seriously, sometimes the HL can get goofy and not learn your original remote. In such a case, follow the directions to clear the HL completely. Then follow the directions to train the HL as in non-rolling code. It can take 30 seconds before you see something happen while you are pressing the button.
Then once the HL is trained, you then train your opener to accept the code from the HL following the directions for your opener in adding a new remote.
