Does anyone know how to get chewing gum off the rug?

As far as I am concerned anyone who those gum on the sidewalk should be made to walk through gum barefoot!

Ice is good...applying a direct shot (up close) from a can of compressed air is even better. (Like the stuff you use to blow out the keyboard) It freezes gum so hard it will crack. ~JD~

I use a cleaning product called Folex to clean up any stains on my carpets (home and car). I have also used it to clean up gum. Very easy to usewith amazing results

Two other means I've heard fo to get rid of the last residue, but on carpet they don't seem practical. The first was peanut butter, the other was WD-40. Ther work their way into the fibers and then the gum releases). Then use carpet cleaner to get rid of the PB or oil. Both smell strong, so they may or may not come out.
