Just filled up my '05 for the first time. Added 10.9 gallons. When I removed the nozzle, gas poured out of the tank, down the side of the car (the trigger was in the off position). Must have lost a cup on the ground. It seems the tank bladder seals tight against the nozzle and pressurizes, though I'm not sure. I'd like to avoid this in the future. Any idea what happened and how to avoid a repeat performance?

Thanks,
Mike

Bit longer answer: if you are going to top off, remove nozzle at least every 1/4 gallon. Burp the baby or baby might spit up.

I like the short answer: "Don't top off."

Longer reason: It wastes gas, because the extra gas goes into your car's vapor recovery system, flooding it....or gas goes back into gas station's vapor recovery system, yet you still have to pay for it.

If that were true, then I wouldn't be able to drive any further by adding 1 gallon. But I CAN drive 55 miles more by adding 1 extra gallon, and my guess guage takes longer to drop that first bar.
