Lo All,

Just had the Steering Rack replaced in my 2001 Prius after 30,000 miles...

Since I got it back, it has made a funny noise at high revs. I have done some checks and can't see anything wrong... Perhaps it's a gromit which has come off under the dash allowing more engine noise into the cabin.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this.....

I hope someone can help........

I'm just hoping it's not the manifold or something or the Lambda sensor might give wrong readings and make the mix too rich....

Love the car

Sounds like you got a new noise during the steering wheel replacement. I don't hear it in my 2001 and haven't heard anyone else mention it. Ask your service department to check it out.

Funny Noise (Steering Rack Replaced)

I recently had the steering rack replaced on my 2002, but do not have the noises you describe. However, I do have a little rattle inside the dash that only I seem to be able to hear.

I think the dealer techs have selective hearing when it comes to finding rattles. Good luck fixing yours.

Now you mention it.... It could be a very high frequency rattle, but it seems to match the speed of the engine....

Will send it to the dealer again and see what they say.....
