OK, I'm form Euorope (Italy). That means that our Priuses are probably not the same, but almost the same. The problem is that I've ordered one that is coming at the end of August and we don't have the option of adding the 6CD changer. Just the on board CD, and obviously no AUX input.
I've seen the marvellous RCAInput iPod2Car adapter (http://www.rcainput.com/Merchant2/merch ... e=ipod2car) but they are not so clear regarding the 6CD Changer option... (and they are NOT answering to my emails, that's even worst!)
Do I need the 6CD option (the one I cannot get here in Italy, by the way)?
Or can I live also without one and simply buying the cable part #08695-00370 as they say on their site?
And this cable will be compatible with my european Prius? I cannot ask to the dealer or to Toyota Italy, they are closed from today until the last week of August (In August even the world stops revolving here in Italy) and anyway I've asked them many times about a way or a hack to connect external devices and the answer was always "impossible" or "don't know" or "we'll see" and we don't see anything at the end.
I've seen that here I can hope in a better and informed answer, hope to get some info soon, otherwise I'm starting to feel a bit lost...

Thank you so much for any suggestion I can get.

If you want the 6 cd changer, you may find it best to cross the border to France, Austria or Germany and get the changer fitted there, assuming your not right down in the toe of Italy!

Otherwise, give a German dealer a call and order 6 CD changer (Part number 08601-00911 @ EUR 369). I dont have the part number for the in-dash one, but I guess they could order it for you. PM me for the details of my dealer in Munich, who could probably help you.

Thank you Victor but...

What I really do not understand now is IF I must buy the CD Changer to use the iPod2Car adapter... That's the question! I'm absolutely willing to buy the CD Changer if I must, but if I can avoid, I'd obviously prefer! Anyway your contact is precious, and if noone here can give further help I message you for sure to get it!

I took a quick look at the web site you mentioned, and I cant see why you would need the CD changer.

Requirments:

A 3rd or 4th iPod or iPod Mini
A compatible car stereo
You will need an adaptor by the looks of it, but it does not specify the Prius Mk2. It only says Prius.

Read the Faq and more on the the iPod2Car Home Page - Click Here
You need to contact the company (again) and ask for clarification.

hi,

We have all the hardware and software done for this, but need to do some tests in a Prius to be done. Now we are looking for a Prius car in our area, but no luck...

If we find someone, I will advise you

Best regards,

Jimmy
So, Anyone fancy being used for testing ?
