I'm sure more information about our driving history is held in the computer than what we see on the screen ...
I got gas this morning and then coasted downhill to my office (2 miles) and so now my MPG rating for this tank is 98.6 MPG! While that's very nice to see, it's obviously not accurate to what the car is actually getting since I bought it.
Do you think it's possible that when you take it in for service the techs there could give it to us on a disk?
I heard that there's an interface port somewhere that you can get a jack for and download the computer data.
Controller Area Network = CAN this is replacing the old OBDII system for on-board diagnostics in cars. There are more computers and links in the new cars, especially the Prius, so a better way of getting the data out was needed.
