I just took delivery of my 2007 Prius and have driven it a few times.
I have a question about the consumption display bar chart.

I understood that it would display the average MPG for every 5 minutes of driving. I assumed for example, after 5 minutes I'd see the MPG for the first 5 minutes displayed.

What happens is that it does display after 5 minutes, but then lets say 15 more minutes into the drive , it will revise the display for the first 5 minutes.
In fact, it periodically revises all of the bars for all of the 5 minute intervals.

Can someone explain what this graph is really supposed to be displaying?

Thanks.

PS. Fantastic Car! I can not belive how comfortable the ride is (my last car was a Bonnevile) and how peppy it is when you need it to be.

Perhaps you're thinking the bar on the right end of the graph is always the first five minute bar, with subsequent bars progressively added to its left. That's not it. The bar on the right is the most recent five minute bar. As subsequent five-minute bars appear they nudge the previous bars to the left.
