New to the site....but was wondering if the MCU of the car has an interface to download or monitor data via a laptop. I have a 91 300ZXTT that can do this.

OBDII has been standard on most vehicles for some time now.

For a Classic Prius, because of multiple computers all answering at the same time, some aftermarket/cheap OBDII readers can get confused... take a look at: http://www.ecrostech.com/Products/MiniScanner/Intro.htm (I've seen long computer printouts from several functions for certain driving trips made by some owners...)

For the 2004-? Prius, it now uses CAN, and there are few readers available for it. Some work has been done on a scanner: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Pri ... r_MarkIII/

Barring that, you could shell out a few thousand to get an official Toyota Hand-Held Tester (THHT)...
