Question for the technical gurus here (and anyone else that wants to give an educated response):
When I had my '03 Prius, I recall the owner's manual mentioned that non-standard two-way radios, such as CB and walkie-talkies, should not be installed in the Prius.
I'm still waiting on my owner's manual for the '04 Prius (bought it used, manual was gone), and I'm wondering if this is still the case, and if so, why? I've gone ahead and used my CB briefly, but don't want to do that long-term if it can actually cause a problem.
Is this a real issue, or one of those theoretical "it might cause a problem" issues (such as the warnings to turn off cell phones near a blasting location - which is nonsense, since cell phones operate at very different frequencies than do the remote electrical blasting caps...) ???
Anyone know? I need my CB....
