Careful of cargo in the back....
I got a phone call from my husband at the dealer today. He said they just got a Prius in that had a problem with the backup brake power supply. Someone had some kind of cleaning solution in the back of the car and it spilled and fried the power supply. The 12V battery was OK, BTW.
No word yet on whether this will be covered under warranty. Techs there were thinking there would be a TSB eventually to have some seal placed around the backup power supply. But noone really knows right now. I will update when I hear more.
Until we know more about this, I suggest we all be careful about what we put in the back of the car!
