Hello.
I am thinking about the replacement of brake actuator on my 2gen (2005)Prius.
Toyota recalls the actuator, but mine is out of the recall due to 10 years limit.

Is the replacement with the used actuator at risk? This is because the actuator was taken off from 2gen Prius that Toyota recalled.
Is it possible to replace with the actuator of another generation Prius?

Thank you

I also was thinking about changing mind but after talking to Prius tech you have to have a computer to hookup to turn off the actuator. It will spray brake fluid everywhere. You would be better off finding a Prius tech. to do it for you. The part cost about 1400.00 to 1700.00 from the dealership. This price was using my tech to get his discount.. My technician said don’t trust the aftermarket one’s they don’t last. You are talking about your brakes. Check this out on YouTube or Google. Hope this helps.
