I need a bike rack that will carry at least 2 bikes. I do not want one that will scratch the car ( a friend has a hollywood type and it is scratching her car). Also the $345 or what ever one that is on line looks wonderful but $300 is too much money for me. any suggestions?
thanks

Doesn't answer your question, but I've fit two bikes inside the Prius. I remove the front wheel, and lay down one bike. Put a big cloth (an old shower curtain) over that bike. Then remove the other bike's front wheel. Put second bike on top of first. Then another big cloth and the two front wheels. It goes in fast -- lots less time than hooking up a bike rack. Doesn't affect drag and the bikes don't get wet/dirty.

Course, you have to fold down the rear seats, so only two people fit in the car.

I got my Saris #902 roof rack and accessories for two bikes on e-bay for $125. plus $25. shipping. I then ordered the correct clamps and air dam directly from Saris for another $70. I am very happy with this. I just checked e-bay and there is currently one available in the Prius size - Model #902, 59" bars. I imagine they are the 59" bars and not 60" which Saris does not have. It also includes rails for 2 bikes. The auction expires 10/20.

well I can not use the inside so that is not a solution and I am too short to get anything on the roof...so that will not work either but thanks for answering.

Hello,

I bought the Coastal Technologies Receiver Hitch and a Thule 2-bike bike rack (links below)...have used them so far to take two bikes to and from the Outer Banks, a five-hour drive, and am happy with both -- they're solidly made, the hitch was easy to install, and I like the fact that I can easily pop the rack off the hitch when I'm not using it.

Regards,

Benjamin
