Hello all from New Zealand.
I would appreciate your help.
I haVE a 2004 Prius.
Had been stationary for a week or more, when I went to unlock there was now power.
On checking the Aux Battery,I found it was flat(been renewed about a year ago)so fully charged the battery, and when I went to fit the battery postive was fitted,on fitting the negative terminal, there is fairly large arcing taking place,so have not reconnected the battery.
Kind Regards Bob :p

The Prius has some drain (load) on the battery all the time, even with everything turned off; so a little sparking is normal when reconnecting the battery terminals.

I would just hook both terminals back up and see if the engine starts normally.

The electric spark can be caused by load from a light being left on. Such as having the rear hatch open because you are re- installing the battery.
