Thinking about biting the bullet and pre-ordering a Highlander Hybrid. Has anyone done this in the NYC area? Got a good dealer to recommend? Any expected ship date?

preorder Highlander

I preorderd a Highlander Hybrid in Cleveland, OH. Had to put $500 down to get it started. Was told they will only be making 5,000 of them.

I ordered one in Northern NJ for a deposit of $500. The order says the price will be MSRP. The salesman said that Toyota will not make the Prius mistake again...there will be lots of these.

Highlander Hybrid

Hello all,

I work with a Toyota Dealership in Va. The availability of the Highland will be tied to the LEXUS versions success!!! I currently have 20 people signed up on ordered units!!! They don't care what color, configuation, or AWD or FWD...... they just want one! At $500 down to secure a place and a price, you'de be crazy not to sign up!!!

Anybody in Pittsburgh order one yet? My local dealers won't take orders until Feb 2005 for whatever reason. Some of them (obviously) don't even know WHEN it's being released!
