I changed the oil at around 1000 miles (to synthetic) on our '05 Prius. Is there way to reset the maintenance interval so it will "remind" us at around 6000 miles instead of 5000 miles? I tried resetting (at least I think I did...), but it still shows around 4000 (instead of 5000) miles to go before an oil change is needed. Thanks.

I believe you have to take it to the dealer to have the mileage interval reprogrammed

It is fixed at 5000 miles. It will blink when you turn it on between 4500 and 5000, and at 5000 will stay on.

No known way to change the interval that I am aware of. If someone knows where such a setting is, please document. If in the repair manual, then page # will be sufficient.

I'm glad it's difficult or impossible to reprogram this light. Otherwise, dealers would be routinely reprogramming it to request more frequent service intervals.

My understanding is that the warning light will flash at 4500 miles and then come on at 5000 miles after it is reset.
