The Navigation system in the Pri is a wonder to behold and use. Unfortunately the Pri operation manual explaining the use of the system is pretty bloody awful. It was undoubtedly written by a Japanese engineer and was later translated into English. There is, however a solution to the problem.

Lexus uses the same Navigation system as does the Pri. Go the Lexus web site. I have included the URL below. Just copy it and paste it into your browser and click to go there. It provides a terrific step-by-step tutorial with voice narration on the use of the Nav system. After viewing the tutorial, you will have no more trouble using the Nav system. You can also review any section of the operation manual by going to the ‘HOW TO’ MENU located in the upper right corner of the screen.

I bookmarked the site to make it easy to return to the instructions so that I can refer to the step by step operation procedure at any time.

Scroll down to the ‘Tutorial DVD Navigation System.’

Then you can select to view the tutorial with either a56K Modem which lets you view Text only with no voice narration:

Or;

Using DSL or High Speed Internet, which Includes voice narration.

If you have muted your computer’s sound, turn your sound on to allow you to hear the narration.

Thanks so much for that information!! I use the NAV all the time but I am sure there are things about it that I am unaware of.

Thanks for the link! This is well worth using.
I had the same idea of checking other Toyota products (especially from Lexus) when I first saw the Solara XM kit works in the Prius, but I didn't think to look for user manuals ... the Nav system is so complex, it really needs doc.
