There are 2 ribbons on this indicator.
I understand the narrow green ribbon shows LOAD (how far I push the gas pedal).
What does the wider blue ribbon do? Seems related to the battery? Owners manual and folks at my dealer are vague about the function

I'm vague about many of the 'button' functions. Not really up to reading the many pages in the manual about the functions and how to operate them unless I'm forced. The manual that came with my 2016 is not even for the 2016, does anyone show concern at the dealer? Of course not. Dealership was supposed to have a class on the tech side, but you know how that goes, can't believe anything dealer 'people' tell you. They lie by omission, and by admission. I suppose they are all the same.

It is my understanding (and I can't remember where I picked it up--somewhere in that giant owner's manual?) that the blue zone is the range of eco-friendly operation. As long as you're within that blue zone, you're being good to Mother Earth. If you are down near the bottom of the blue zone, well, my dear, you are a superhero!

P.S. The blue zone is also expressing the car's potential need for power--you'll see it go up as you climb a hill, for instance. Still, blue is good--you're not hitting power mode (red).
