Firstly, my apologies if this has been addressed previously. I tried doing a search and didn't come across anything that seemed to fit my issue.
Anywho.
Today, while stopped at a stop sign, foot on the break, the engine to my car started revving. It just kept going up a notch and up a notch, seemingly switching gears and getting louder. As soon as I realized something wasn't right, I hit the park button and it all died down. I didn't take my foot off the break, so I'm not sure if my car would've accelerated or not.
I'm at a little over 160k miles and nothing like this has ever happened before. I was on a flat road and had only gone about 2 miles for the day.

Does anyone happen to have any insight on this issue? It didn't happen again, but it's very unsettling to say the least.
Thanks!
