I'm picking up my 2007 model in NYC tomorrow. I need to buy seat covers for our dogs and the online vendors seem to sell only ones designed for up to 2006 models.
From all I can tell, the only difference between 06 to 07 is the standard side impact airbags.

Can anyone confirm that the seats are identical so that the 2006 covers will fit fine? Can anyone suggest ones that they like

On an entirely unrelated note, I've seen the Caltech Lockpick packages discussed here. I've got the navigation system/6CD changer installed. I can't tell if the Lockpick will allow me to use this to play DVD (some changers apparently handle DVD playback) or if it will require an extnernal DVD player.

Thanks in advance.

The Prius doesn't have a DVD player, except for the Nav data on that ecu.
I doubt Toyota would go through the extra expense of a physical DVD drive in the changer, then not utilize it. But if they are using the same hardware in markets where they do offer DVD playback, Japan for example may be a possibility, then it may indeed be in NA's system.

Seats should be the same.

The http://www.coastaletech.com/lockpick3.htm Lockpick device for the 2006-2007 Prius will only add an audio/video input jack (and some screen lockouts). You provide the device (in your case, a portable DVD player) to plug into it.

The reference to "DVD Navigation" is that the navigation system stores its data on a data DVD (as opposed to several CDs or a hard drive). There is no DVD player onboard to decode the movie format of anything that you would want to watch...

Thanks to both of you for your replies.

I'm still left with the question about seat covers, which I guess the dealer can tell me when I pick up the car tomorrow.

Now that you've explained the Coastaletch Lockpick device...any thoughts on whether I can add BOTH the Lockpick 3 device and the DICE ipod adapter?
The DICE solution appears superior to the Coastaletech solution in that it integrates the controls with the Prius radio/cd controls.

Thanks

You might then want to get the lockpick that only prevents the speed lockouts, without extra inputs.

I believe the seats are the same. Not much changed from 2004-2007 in this regard, except leather option was introduced in 2006.

do make sure that your seat covers properly allow for the side air bags to properly deploy (as the SAB are mounted in the seats) by using breakaway threads and such. i.e. make sure that the seat covers are made for the SAB version of the seats!

SRS (supplemental Restraint System) is usually the designation on the labels of covers that are designed for airbags. You will see just such a tag on the seatback side facing the door of those that have the all airbag option.
